Make-Room-for-Your-Blessing

2Kings 4:3, 6;
3 Then he said, “Go, borrow vessels from everywhere, from all your neighbors — empty vessels; do not gather just a few.
6 Now it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said to her son, “Bring me another vessel.”And he said to her, “There is not another vessel.” So the oil ceased.
Isa.54:1-3
“Sing, O barren, You who have not borne! Break forth into singing, and cry aloud, You who have not labored with child! For more are the children of the desolate. Than the children of the married woman,” says the Lord. 2 “Enlarge the place of your tent, And let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings; Do not spare; lengthen your cords, And strengthen your stakes. 3 For you shall expand to the right and to the left, And your descendants will inherit the nations, And make the desolate cities inhabited.

Introduction

Making room speaks of any or a combination of the following
To take thoughtful steps towards enlargement or comfort – IIKings 6:1-2
And the sons of the prophets said to Elisha, “See now, the place where we dwell with you is too small for us. 2 Please, let us go to the Jordan, and let every man take a beam from there, and let us make there a place where we may dwell.” So he answered, “Go.”
Create or designate a space or place for special use –Gen.24:23,31
23 and said, “Whose daughter are you? Tell me, please, is there room in your father’s house for us to lodge?”
31 And he said, “Come in, O blessed of the Lord! Why do you stand outside? For I have prepared the house, and a place for the camels.”
To be settled or established or quench every opposition – Gen.26:22,
22 And he moved from there and dug another well, and they did not quarrel over it. So he called its name Rehoboth, because he said, “For now the Lord has made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land.”

Psm.66:3Say to God, “How awesome are Your works! Through the greatness of Your power Your enemies shall submit themselves to You.
Prepare a place for – Lu.22:12
12 Then he will show you a large, furnished upper room; there make ready.”
John 14:1-3″Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.

Why should I make Room for my blessing?
Most often times, God blesses those who have prepared themselves to be blessed. Gen.4:3-5,Deut.16:16; Heb.10:6-7
Making room for my blessings increases my ability to receive and maintain my blessing.
Prophets widow – Ikings 4:1-7
Shunamite woman –Ikings 4:8-18
The woman with the issue of blood –Mk.5:25-34
God always pour His water on the thirsty –Isa.44:3;Matt,5:6
You get what you ask –Matt.7:8
Making room is an evidence of faith in God’s love and ability
Abraham – Gen.12&13
Isaac – Gen.26:1-3,12-13
Jacob –Gen.46:1-4
Making room is a first step in manifesting obedience to God or to His word through His servant(s)
IIkings 3:9-10; 15-18
It is the evidence that I am ready to be blessed.
Zachariah – Lu.1:18-20
Mary – Lu.1:31,38

What is making Room?
Making room for your blessing is about taking responsibility to clear the grounds to be able to accommodate or make the environment conducive for your miracle. E.g God said in:
Gen.6:13-16 Noah to make the ark
Gen.6:17 God to send the rain/flood.
Gen.15:8-9 Abraham to bring the tokens for the covenant.
Gen.15:13-16 God to give him the revelation He wanted.
2Kings 5:10a Naaman to wash the in Jordan river.
2king 5:10b,14 upon obedience Naaman was completely healed of Leprosy.
John 5:8,14 sick man to take up his bed walk and then sin no more.
Resulted in his healing of a debilitating 38yr old condition
John 9:6-7 Submitted to the spitting and went as directed to the pool Siloam.
Resulted in the solving of a 40yr old congenital problem.

How Do I make Room
The fear of God- Psm.111: 10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments. His praise endures forever.
Prov9:10″The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
Abraham feared God. This reflected in his obedience & sacrifice – Gen.22:12-13;16-18
12 And He said, “Do not lay your hand on the lad, or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.” 13 Then Abraham lifted his eyes and looked, and there behind him was a ram caught in a thicket by its horns. So Abraham went and took the ram, and offered it up for a burnt offering instead of his son.
16 and said: “By Myself I have sworn, says the Lord, because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son — 17 blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies. 18 In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.”
Joseph – Gen.39:7-9
7 And it came to pass after these things that his master’s wife cast longing eyes on Joseph, and she said, “Lie with me.” 8 But he refused and said to his master’s wife, “Look, my master does not know what is with me in the house, and he has committed all that he has to my hand. 9 There is no one greater in this house than I, nor has he kept back anything from me but you, because you are his wife. How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?”
Skills development or sharpening
David – ISam.16:18, 18 Then one of the servants answered and said, “Look, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, who is skillful in playing, a mighty man of valor, a man of war, prudent in speech, and a handsome person; and the Lord is with him.”
Psm.78:72So he shepherded them according to the integrity of his heart,And guided them by the skillfulness of his hands.
Hard work
Paul the Apostle – ICor.15:9-10
9 For I am the least of the apostles, who am not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.
Faithfulness
Zecharias – Lu.1:5-9
5 There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the division of Abijah. His wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elizabeth. 6 And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless. 7 But they had no child, because Elizabeth was barren, and they were both well advanced in years. 8 So it was, that while he was serving as priest before God in the order of his division, 9 according to the custom of the priesthood, his lot fell to burn incense when he went into the temple of the Lord.
Persistence/Perseverance
Ruth – Ruth.1:16-18
16 But Ruth said:”Entreat me not to leave you, Or to turn back from following after you; For wherever you go, I will go; And wherever you lodge, I will lodge; Your people shall be my people, And your God, my God. 17 Where you die, I will die, And there will I be buried. The Lord do so to me, and more also,If anything but death parts you and me.” 18 When she saw that she was determined to go with her, she stopped speaking to her.
Consistent seed sowing
Cornelius – Acts 10:3-4
3 About the ninth hour of the day he saw clearly in a vision an angel of God coming in and saying to him, “Cornelius!” 4 And when he observed him, he was afraid, and said, “What is it, lord?” So he said to him, “Your prayers and your alms have come up for a memorial before God.
Amos 9:13-15 “Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord, “When the plowman shall overtake the reaper, And the treader of grapes him who sows seed; The mountains shall drip with sweet wine, And all the hills shall flow with it.
Removal of clogs –IICor.7:1
Unforgiveness – Ahithophel -11Sam.15:12
12 Then Absalom sent for Ahithophel the Gilonite, David’s counselor, from his city — from Giloh — while he offered sacrifices. And the conspiracy grew strong, for the people with Absalom continually increased in number.
Offences – Job 34:31,
31 Surely it is meet to be said unto God, I have borne chastisement, I will not offend any more:

Past Pains –Absalom (2Sam.13:22-24)-Joab (2Sam.3:27)
